St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, one of Queensland’s leading independent schools, invites you to become part of our highly respected catering team. We are seeking a skilled, passionate and qualified Chef to join our friendly team working across Canopy Café, the boarding kitchen and functions. 

Hospitality is at the heart of our school culture.  In addition to servicing our internal school community, we offer impressive function facilities and catering service to the broader community. 

The Role

  • Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals for students, staff and guests in Canopy café and the boarding kitchen
  • Work alongside a dedicated team to deliver high-quality catering for school events and functions as required
  • Help create a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with students, staff and guests
  • Maintain food safety standards and a safe and hygienic kitchen environment

About you

As a qualified chef you may be early in your career or be experienced, either way you will demonstrate: 

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Positive, service driven attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow direction and quickly change to varying priorities, while at the same time have the initiative to work well with limited direction
  • A passion for creating great food and a welcoming environment

This is a full-time role.  The role will initially be predominately across Monday to Friday during school term time, however rosters can vary across 7 days per week and are generally between the hours of 6am – 8pm.  There is the potential for the right candidate to negotiate to work across the full year.
